10K Run Challenge

With participants uploading their training runs onto the blog now and the banter getting increasingly serious, I thought I would step up the pressure just a little.... by signing up for two 10K runs next year. I have completed the registration process for the Vancouver Sun Run on 9th May 2010 and the Victoria Garden City Run on Sunday April 25th.

Anthony has to take the credit for this idea, as entering more than one run means that I can choose the best timed result to help my cause. More chance of me avoiding being the guy on YouTube! If you are interested in registering for the Vancouver and Victoria runs, links enclosed:

Keep up the hard training!

I thought that end of April was the deadline for the official 10K time. Your run on May 9th won't count unless you extend the deadline until the end of May?

Good point about the deadline, however, Im sure no-one will mind moving it back until mid May. Also gives everyone a chance to get more runs in

Seeing as we are changing the rules and "no-one seems to mind" ... how about the loser has to shave his head instead of the tutu video?

Scott said...

The shaving of the head could be recorded as well... However, does this change only impact the people with hair - what do the bald participants do?

Anonymous said...

None of the competitors are bald.

you could shave ross's eyebrow as its the hairiest thing i've seen

Scott said...

Ok not bald... just follically challenged. Mono-brow being shaved would be a great alternative

I would like to voice objections to the change in deadline. If this constant changing of the deadline is ok I would like to make it 2011. So I ask for everyones formal decision so far its. 1 for no change, 0 for change.

Please note that the deadline was already moved back once before. We top athletes need solid goals

In regard to punishment for losing. We could always make it so that the loser has to be seen at three major landmarks in your local area during the day wearing a tutu and wearing a bald cap.

Anthony, you seem to be getting very belligerent in your old age, whats up? Moving the deadline from 1st May to 10th May is hardly a problem, surely? It also means you can run in Vancouver Sun Run as well.

Running competitors may be pleased to know that I sprained my ankle playing football Sunday night. I won't be running for at least a couple of weeks assuming no ligament damage. I vote for an end of May deadline for the race.

Tony said...

Pleased? No. elated yes :) only joking! seriously I hope it's alright and no other damage. Want to beat you When your at your best! I will join the real world sooner or later but for now I can dream!
